Professional Facilitation

Facilitation is the process of making things easier.  A Facilitator is a neutral person whose responsibility is to enable groups to work together, and make it easier for the groups to make effective decisions and accomplish their task. They do this by supporting a collaborative and respectful environment that encourages full particpation and helps groups overcome barriers to reaching their goal. 

Facilitators help a group of people understand their common objectives and assists them to plan how to achieve these objectives; in doing so, the facilitator remains "neutral" meaning he/she does not take a particular position in the discussion.
